Calibration Technician

The Calibration or Metrology Technician utilizes appropriate manual and automated measurement procedures in parallel with the knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to test and calibrate measurement, and test equipment in variety of disciplines such as, DC/Low Frequency, RF/Microwave, Dimensional, Mechanical, Environmental Chambers, and Time & Frequency to ensure measurement accuracy.
Typical Responsibilities and Duties for current open position
  1. Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in one or more of the following disciplines:  DC/Low Frequency, Dimensional, and Mechanical and Environmental.
  2. Maintain calibration standards
  3. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision equipment
  4. Collect,  record, and  summarize, data during calibration
  5. Identifying abnormalities, trends and/or predicting future values
  6. Identify equipment out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action by adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, in accordance with Cascade policies and procedures
  7. Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
  1. Must be able to perform general mathematical, statistical and algebraical functions
  2. Minimum AA degree, formal PMEL training, or equivalent
  3. Must possess very good written and oral, communication skills
  4. Technical writing ability
  5. Intermediate ability to troubleshoot repair, align and optimize precision equipment
  6. Computer skills such as use of MS Word, Outlook and Excel.  MET/CAL experience preferred.
  7. Minimum 2 years of Calibration/Metrology experience
Physical Demands
  1. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  2. Occasional standing and bending are required
Working Environment
  1. Works primarily in an engineering laboratory or manufacturing environment at Cascade and/or customer sites
  2. Occasional in state travel required
